With the national roll-out well underway, Black Sheep Utilities have a range of business internet solutions to help your business. Why not make use of our availability checking service to see if Full Fibre connectivity is available where you are.

GETTING CONNECTED
ADSL

Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) utilises the current Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) which will be shut off in 2025. PSTN is the copper wire-based telephone system that’s been in place since the 1800s!

Fibre not available in your area? – Ask about our flexible upgrade packages. As part of our Business Internet Solutions, we’ve made sure they come as standard!

Typical connection speeds of 17Mbps down and 1Mbps up.

FTTC

Fibre To The Cabinet (FTTC) As the name suggests, fibre is run from the exchange to the nearest telephone cabinet. The final connection to your business premises is then made across the PSTN (Analogue copper cable).

Even if full Fibre FTTP isn’t yet available for your business, this option lets you take advantage of the faster connection speeds available via Fibre whilst our flexible upgrade packages allow you to seamlessly upgrade to full Fibre connectivity FTTP as soon as it’s available.

Typical connection speeds of between 38 and 76 Mbps down and upload speeds of up to 19 Mbps

FTTP

All connections from 2025 will be direct Fibre to the premises FTTP connections as the copper-based PSTN is switched off.

FTTP might not currently be available for your business but with our flexible business internet connectivity packages, we provide you with the best possible connection options all at no extra cost with zero upgrade exit fees.

Typical connection speeds of between 38 and 300 Mbps down and upload speeds of up to 48 Mbps

WHAT’S HAPPENING – WHY DO I NEED FIBRE?

BT announced in 2015 that it was phasing out its PSTN network, on which ISDN and ADSL operate, and replacing it with more advanced digital fibre connections. The process has already begun as BT stopped taking ISDN orders in 2020 leading up to the 2025 switch-off date.

We anticipate engineer availability will decline the closer we get to the 2025 deadline so are advising all our customers to upgrade to Fibre as soon as it becomes available.

Our flexible internet connectivity packages provide you with the best possible business internet solutions for your business, allowing you to seamlessly upgrade from ADSL to Fibre as soon as its available, with no upgrade exit fees when switching from ADSL to ‘Fibre To The Cabinet ‘ (FTTC) or when switching from FTTC to Fibre To The Premises (FTTP).

As part of our range of business internet solutions, giving you the flexibility now means you can skip the queue at no additional cost, as the closer we get to 2025 engineer availability shortages will undoubtedly cause businesses connectivity issues at increased cost!

In the majority of cases upgrading to Fibre works out cheaper as Fibre To The Premises doesn’t incur any additional line rental costs.

Need a dedicated Fibre connection? We can provide that too! Just get in touch with one of the team to find out what we can do for you.
